2 Days Until the Election: Our Daughters & Sons

imageMy children weren’t born in San Marcos, but my husband and I are grateful to be raising them here in this beautiful town amidst kind and dedicated individuals who truly care about the well-being of our kids and community.

I have toured every one of our campuses over the last few weeks and I can say with certainty that great things are happening in our district every day. I have seen exceptional teachers and administrators in action. Above all, I have seen classroom after classroom of students engaged in meaningful learning.

My great-great-great-great-great grandfather Jesse served in the American Revolution. That makes me particularly proud that this morning, our daughter Sadie received the honor of reading the essay she wrote in school on the Texas War of Independence to the members of the Moon-McGehee Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas at the Hays County Courthouse on the San Marcos Sqaure.

I’m also very proud to receive the endorsement of wonderful community leaders like Barrie Breed and Bill and Brenda Damron, who believe that by working together we can make our schools the very best that they can be.

I am aware that not every child in the district has access to the same opportunities as my children. That’s why I am running for the school board. I want to provide every student with access to the opportunities and resources that they need to thrive. If elected on Saturday, I’m looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and getting to work on behalf of ALL our kids.

We have to send a new message to every child and family in San Marcos: You belong here and you will succeed here!

Election Day is this SATURDAY, MAY 9. Polls are open from 7 AM – 7 PM.

Our kids count. So does every vote. It really is that important.

I appreciate your support and know that together we will lead our district to even brighter days.

Sincerely,
Anne
